The Northeast Florida Safety Council is pleased to announce that we are celebrating our 75th
year of serving the safety, health, and environmental needs of the Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia region!
In 1942, six of the area's largest employers - including Cohen Brothers Department Store, Swisher Cigars, and Winn Dixie - came together to form the Jacksonville Safety Council. Meetings were held in the Cohen Brothers downtown store, which is now Jacksonville City Hall. In the 75 years since then, the Safety Council has grown to more than 400 area member organizations. Each year we train from 12,000 to 14,000 students; and though we are happy to celebrate our historic past, our eyes are fixed on the future. We're looking forward to becoming an even more integral part of ensuring the health, safety, and environmental security of our community.
While we're looking ahead, we'd like to thank each of you for your dedication to safety awareness.
Your commitment to safety is the driving force behind our mission to offer the latest training from local industry experts. We are constantly evolving to meet your professional needs, and we thank you for your continued support.
